Early on we both had bad experiences with Newfoundlands we had purchased. These experiences convinced us that Newfoundlands have a right to a healthy happy life and owners have a right to a healthy, happy, long living pet.
Our rigorous hip/elbow/heart and now Cystinuria testing goes a long way to providing not only show quality Newfoundlands but healthy pets .
Newfoundlands that look great and have good health foundations for the future. Ideally we like to see our show dogs placed in homes where they are also part of a loving family, enjoying all the benefits of family life.
The breed has a limited gene pool like most pure bred dogs , and sometimes things do go wrong as they do with all living things , not just dogs .
We do our best to prevent this , usually we can , sometimes we cannot .
Prospective buyers do need to do their homework on the breed and make sure that this is the breed for them regardless of what may happen .
If something goes wrong with your child we dont think you would get rid of it , we only sell to people who feel the same about their animals .
If you cannot accept this , there are many other animals that may give you a better option for perfection .
Puppies are not born knowing how to behave , at 6 months a male newfy may easily be 35 kilos of sheer hell on 4 legs or 3 depending on his speed :) , its up to you to keep them safe in to a glorious stable well behaved adulthood .
We recommend much socialisation and schooling and encourage you to read The Dog Whisperer .
We provide written care and feeding instructions , we expect them to be followed please .
If you think you can feed the puppy better with raw meat , a vegetarian diet or any other plan , then PLEASE dont call us .
